I’m Nyasha Felder, a Designer with a background in Architecture, UX Design, Landscape Architecture, and Education located in Philadelphia. I believe that my unique background enables me to understand users’ needs and implement impactful design strategies that are results driven to serve target audiences. I think that my greatest attribute is my ability to take complex multivariable data sets and organize them to present comprehensive, elegant, formal compositions that can be universally understood at various scales.
HI!
Roots
My ability to relate to users and clients is rooted in empathy, compassion, social, and emotional intelligence.
What I do.
PARTICIPATE IN DISCUSSIONS WITH THOUGHT LEADERS
COLLABORATE WITH STAKEHOLDERS
SHARE MY THOUGHTS WITH THE CREATIVE COMMUNITY
FACILITATE WORKSHOPS WITH USER GROUPS
Communicate. Support.
I schedule a model, identifying critical decision milestones, along with decision maker(s), lead time to make a decision, evaluation criteria, analysis of options and alternatives, and a recommendation with the design team.
Then I budget the model with a clear baseline cost model in sufficient and increasing level of detail including both scope and cost so as to be able to know when a decision will have a cost impact.
Lastly, I program model outlining physical and functional requirements to insure that the project brief is adhered to and to understand critical program components driving cost and schedule
Design is a Process.
I enjoy a variety of creative expressions, but what I enjoy most, is the ability to connect people to greater experiences by listening to their needs and finding creative ways to address problems. To achieve this I believe that the best designs are process driven and rely less on achieving objectives and are more about discovering what are the best objectives to achieve a goal(s).
Inclusive. Motivated. Reliable.
I am a motivated self starter. I quickly iterate possible solutions when given a task. I do this by first clarify the objectives and goals at a high level, then identify the target audience and the problem(s) by examining their premises and contributing factors. I then identify the constraints and think of some fixes through a pro/con list then identify target user(s) motivations and pain points.
I am a reliable collaborator and team player. I believe that great minds can achieve even greater possibilities through teamwork. By using clear communication and soft skills, collaboration can be smooth and results can be delivered.
I am open minded and inclusive. Diversity in any system increases survival rate with the ability to adapt and respond to multiple variants. My unique experiences and background enables me to better navigate through various social dynamics and allow me to become more cognizant of my own bias in design. I only challenge conventional standards when they become impediments to reasonable, equitable, and optimal solutions.
